The Giving Spirit at Howard C. Reiche Community School
Before the holidays, students and staff at the Howard C. Reiche Community School held a $.10 ice cream sundae raffle, a quarter sale where items could be purchased for a quarter and a silent auction to promote the spirit of giving. The 2000 dimes from the raffle, the 975 quarters from the quarter sale and the $500 from the silent auction tallied to more than $900.
On January 12, at their afternoon Winter Assembly Principal Marcia Gendron presented Ronald McDonald House, one of two recipients, with a $450 check through their community neighbors program. The other organization to receive a check was the Africa Schoolhouse project .
We are truly grateful to all of the staff and students for this incredible spirit of giving and we are proud to be neighbors in a community with such a caring group of children and adults.
